Caitlin ICG athlete and Batonbearer

International Children’s Games' Team Coventry member, Caitlin, has been selected to take part in the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games’ Queen's Baton Relay.

She was nominated by her school, Blue Coat Church of England School in Coventry to take part in the Relay.

Caitlin studies both GCSE P.E. and Cambridge National Sports Studies and was nominated by her school for being an ambassador for sport and an inspiration to her peers.

Caitlin, 15, has been swimming competitively for City of Coventry Swimming Club for six years and a successful current season has seen her become Warwickshire Ladies Champion in the 800m freestyle and she has recently qualified for both British and English Summer Nationals in multiple events, as well as representing Team Coventry’s swimming team during the International Children’s Games this summer.

Having been selected for the International Children’s Games in Hungary in 2020 and due to compete in South Korea in 2021, neither of which could happen due to the pandemic, so, Caitlin is delighted to finally have the opportunity to represent Team Coventry at the Games this year.

The International Children’s Games would like to wish Caitin good luck as she runs in the Queen’s Baton Relay on 21 July.
